This product is manufactured for Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica. Clenbuterol, the active ingredient in Ventipulmin, is designated as a class 3 substance by the ARCI.
Active Ingredients: clenbuterol
Directions for User: Clenbuterol hydrochloride is FDA approved for use in veterinary medicine in horses not intended for food. The medication is administered with an initial dose of 0.5mL per 100lbs by mouth twice a day. The initial treatment should be for 3 days. If no improvement, administer 1mL per 100lbs twice a day for 3 days. If no improvement, administer 1.5mL per 100lbs twice a day for 3 days. If no improvement, administer 2mL per 100lbs twice a day for 3 days. If no improvement, horse is a non-responder to clenbuterol hydrochloride and treatment should be discontinued. The recommended duration of treatment at an effective dose is 30 days. At the end of this 30 day treatment period, the drug should be withdrawn to determine recurrence of signs. If signs return, the 30 day treatment may be repeated.
Special Precautions: This medication is not for use in horses intended for food. The safety cap should be placed on the bottle when not in use. Clenbuterol hydrochloride should not be used in pregnant mares near term. Do not use this product in horses suspected of having cardiovascular impairment. The effect on reproduction in breeding stallions and brood mares has not been determined. Treatment starting with dosages higher than the initial dose is not recommended. This product is not intended for human use. Keep out of reach of children.
